The project Joy of Movement was recognised by citizens all over Croatia who participated in exercises and evaluation of their fitness. They were assessed for their overall health and fitness and were given recommendations for further customized exercises.
Changeable weather conditions in September forced people to gather in Zagreb’s Avenue Mall on Saturday, 13th and Sunday, 14th September 2014 to participate in various activities in the project Joy of Movement.
The objective of the project Joy of Movement, organized by Coca-Cola HBC Croatia in cooperation with the Faculty of Kinesiology in Zagreb, is to promote a healthy lifestyle and the importance of constant movement as well as to encourage people to do exercises and recreation. The project is also a part of the official programme of the City of Zagreb and the lead into various activities by which the City of Zagreb celebrates the European Mobility Week, the event which is held from 16th to 22nd September by the European Union.
The conclusion of Joy of Movement began on Saturday with a new edition of the city race Urban Challenge. On Sunday attendees had an opportunity to try parkour, Nordic walking, aikido, M-Dance, belly dancing and hip-hop dancing. The programme ended with the concert by the band Vatra.
Dr.sc. Damir Knjaz, dean of the Faculty of Kinesiology in Zagreb, attended and supported the project while the experts from the Faculty and project promoters assessed the fitness, i.e. body mass index, blood pressure, resting heart rate of all interested attendees. Based on the assessment, they were able to give a recommendation for further customized exercises.
